I see that the cup holders are just in front of the shift lever. Does anyone know whether hitting the shift lever when attempting to use one of the cup holders will be a problem or does the shift lever require actually holding the lever and pressing something in order to change gears?

You may brush up against the lever depending on how you grab the drinks but you shouldn't hit it hard enough to shift it.

Shouldn't be able to hit it hard enough to shift it. But those typically don't have a button to press. Or they'll have a button that's just for park or something like that.

The button has a "P" on it so I assume it's used for the electric parking brake only. Just make sure you grab an extra large drink so it sticks out above the shift stick and you'll be fine.

Maybe I'll try to use the Hat. You know, the one that has room on either side for a soda/non-soda can

The possibilities! I've always wanted one, will never have to leave the couch for a drink again. I'm sure the Bolt design guys took into account those of us who wants to take a sip while driving.
