Functions of front bumper sensors?

Our stable includes a new 2019 Volt (Much improved infotainment displays from our '17!) and I purchased a Platypus license bracket that screws onto the tow hook attachment. Installed, the license plate covers the passenger side sensor that's closest to the middle of the bumper, and it sets off the proximity warning light on the dashboard. That has been solved by a stick-on blinder that covers that sensor, and I can live with that limitation if that's the only function of that sensor.

I'm trying to find out what other functions that might be tied to that sensor. The Owner Manual does not identify what each sensor does, and I'm drawing a blank on 'Net searches for that information. I posted a request on GM-Volt a few days ago, but thus far no responses (the posting activity there has markedly decreased since the demise of the Volt!). Thinking that the Bolt sensors might be similar (although our Volt has ACC), I'm hoping that there is some wisdom on these Forums.

Anybody?

You are on a Bolt forum. You might find questions about the Volt better answered on a Volt forum.

Garage
I don't understand the question. The parking aid sensors are for parking.
The sensors detect objects and warn the driver. When the system stops
the beeping tone and goes to a solid tone, you are 1 foot from a detected object.

What other functions do you think they would have ?
