Best Android Smart Phones for Android Auto in Bolt

My smart phone (Umidigi A1 Pro, Android 8.0) will not interface for Android Auto (AA) on my 2019 Bolt. I would like to pick up another Android phone, one that other Bolt owners have found to have worked with AA in their EVs.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have an option to pick up a Samsung Galaxy 6A. Any experience with that smartphone and AA in their Bolt?

Thanks all,

Rich

I'd argue that the best Android phone will be a Google Pixel variant of one kind or another. The 3a is getting good reviews and is reasonably priced.

(I own an iPhone XS, which is fantastic, if a little pricey. It replaced a 6S that lasted 3.5 years and was still great in various ways.)

Hi. New here. And a week or so into a new Bolt. Very happy.
I spent hours trying to figure out the Keypass on an Android 8.1 GO Edition. It turns out it wasn't even compatible with Android Auto when I tried to move on to that function. So I got a used Samsung S7 as mentioned in an old compatibility list from Chev. It works for Android Auto but still not with Keypass which might be due to an incompatibility with Android 8 which my used phone had been upgraded to where that list mentioned up to Android 7. So I have half the possible connections.

Now, your 6S is a dandy music player (or household security camera). I loaded my music collection on an old Android phone with a 32G micro USB. It lives near my garage work bench, along with a small (and cheap), 60W RMS stereo amp, and some old Bose surrounds I had lying around. I just leave the phone's music player on "shuffle all" and just cycle the amp power to listen. Sounds great!

Well, I already had the following iPhones sitting around at home: original, 3GS, 4S, 5S. I actually traded the 6S in for $200. I felt a bit guilty, but hopefully it will indeed get refurbished and go to someone who'll use it as a phone.

Old, tired Galaxy S6 user here. The thing works great with AA.
No issues at all. Never have been able to get KeyPass to work though, and I do
have to unplug the USB cable periodically when the car fails to notice the phone.

OK, so, focusing on AA use ONLY (phone will remain in Bolt, it will only be used as an AA interface), The Galaxy S6 works, as does the S7 version. So far, so good. I'm only interested in hearing about smart phones that users have actually connected to their Bolts, for AA.

Thanks,

Rich

I've used my old Galaxy Note 3 with AA in my '17 with no problems.

Thanks Greg. I'll add it to my "list."
