Clicking noise upon braking and accelerating

Our 2017 Bolt has developed a clicking sound upon braking and accelerating. Even if you brake with the hand control it happens. It's just one click... no other noise. Dealer is trying to figure out the issue but I wondered if anyone else has had this?
I've read through a bunch of other posts and it doesn't occur when the wheel turns or going over bumps, etc.
Any insight would be appreciated!
Thx

Does it happen in L or D mode or both? At any speed? Can you tell where the sound is coming from?

It happens in D and gets worse the longer you drive the car. The dealer is at a total loss as to what it is after having it there for over a day! The sound appears to come from the foot pedal area but you can hear it from the passenger side as well. This is so frustrating.
I don't have a recording of it at the moment...

Thanks for this suggestion but the dealer has told me they re torqued the axle shaft and noise is still there. Since it happens after braking and then accelerating again, I feel like it should be something they can find but so far no luck

You may want to check the rear axle area for the origin of the noise. My Bolt has a bad rear axle and I discovered it will also "Click" on heavy acceleration and deceleration. It also will click (or pop) when I go over speed bumps or diagonally backing out of the driveway where there is a dip and the car frame will "twist". The rear axle has integrated bushings that appear to fail.

Bushings are item 2 on the diagram in the link below:
