One of the maps in the EA Cycle 2 info is of Upstate NY.

It now appears to show the accurate locations of the now opened Cycle 1 stations on 90, as well as the slightly revised location of the Erie Station. The prior map showed the station to the west of the 79 & 90 interchange, the new map shows it to the east of the interchange, which would likely be the Peach Street Walmart, very close to the Erie, PA Tesla Superchargers.

The disappointing observation is that no stations are indicated in Rochester or Syracuse, but a new location is marked seemingly at the Route 14 interchange with I-90.

The other Cycle 1 station on 90 appears to be the Herkimer, NY Walmart

The Albany location is already posted on PlugShare as "coming soon"

Herkimer location actually turns out to be a Denny's

That map location is about 4 miles west of the Waterloo Premium Outlets mall, a Simon property abutting the New York Thruway. That'd fit with EA's real estate deals and retail-oriented location choices. It's just about halfway between their planned Herkimer and operating Cheektowaga locations; ~100 miles, but not range-stretching for their planned vehicles.

There's free charging (level 2) at the newer casino in Waterloo, Del Lago. There's about 8 Tesla superchargers in the open lot but on the second floor in the covered parking is a chargepoint. If you're in a rush obviously this won't help but the casino has the normal conveniences as well as entertainment and free drinks.

I had observed that as well. On a recent (Non EV ) trip I had driven around the Waterloo Premium Outlets looking for signs of EV charging construction, nothing obvious as of 2/19/19, but I agree, a potential location.

That is a good spot and a good recommendation. Good spot for an overnight with Level 2, food, and entertainment.

Upstate NY is fairly well covered for Level 2 and most all of it free. Level 3 is just frustratingly slow to be built considering all the PR our state is publishing.

@bxd20

OK I was correct about this one. On my trip west this weekend I stopped at the Erie Walmart and took some pictures of the construction. Now posted on PlugShare

This should highlight for any that don't believe charging infrastructure is an important part, if not the biggest part of the "should I purchase an EV" decision making process, for the mass majority of consumers.

For someone like you or I, that trip could be easily done if we had to do it with little concern, but the average driver likely wouldn't. The situation in this regard will have to improve, and we will just have to take the collective responsible parties on their word that it will soon.

Correct, called WPO today and they confirmed, but construction has not yet begun
