You may have seen my post...asking about trustworthy charging, preferable near distractions...in Albuquerque. My apps, like Plugshare, Greenlots, etc. show the few spots, including that DCFC at O'Neils Pub. But when you get into details, many chargers are broken, waiting months for parts. I will be taking my wife to Kaseman hospital many times during the next 6 months. Reliable charger close by??? See, I am afraid that winter temps will knock my range down. During the summer and fall, I have no trouble making a round trip to Socorro without a charge between. Even if I turn off the human heat, I know that the Bolt will heat the batteries and draw a lot. Topping off, with even an L2 might make all the difference in getting comfortably to the hospital and back.

We live in Socorro, and only got our 2018 Bolt in late April. We occasionally drive to Alb and back. We have never used a public L2 or a DCFC. We have an L2, a pro Clipper Creek in our garage. We also have solar cells that put out 4.2 KWH max. All our vehicles are electric. We have a 2012 Miev with a 2016 battery, since I bought it used and Mitsu immediately made good on the battery, when I bought it. It was not really the Miev's fault, as it was on lease and left in CA and NV lots without charging...for months.

The Miev does all the dirty around town jobs = dogs to the park, recycling, etc. My fav is my 1993 CityEl, which was made in Germany. It had lead acid batteries, and I replaced my last set of those with the Bosch lithium cobalt manganese that are in the BMW I3. Only needed two little modules to hit 42 volts...which is more than the 36 volt lead acid.
