INsurance wont replace for micropits and small cracks..Do you not have insurance? Assuming you do actually have insurance, get a quote using insurance info.
I've been told the standard is one chip/crack larger than a quarter or 5+ chips total. Not a high standard. I had 3 windshield replacements on my last car, which included a rain sensor that is glued to the windshield. Didn't pay for any of them, other than insurance cost, of course. You could always have the glass place look at it and see if it qualifies for replacement. They have a pretty strong incentive for it to qualify.INsurance wont replace for micropits and small cracks..
Are you sure? If the chips/cracks are in your view of the road area, our glass shops cannot repair them. They have to replace the windshield. I just get them to phone the insurance company and explaing why it needs to be replaced. Be there with your insurance info, etc as you will have to talk to them. The only problem I have is when they ask me when and where did the damage occur. I just give them my best guess. It seems they have a blank that must be filled in.INsurance wont replace for micropits and small cracks..
My local place 1000 for the glass and said f u to recalibration and said GO to dealer and pay 2 hrs book rate at 200..That company is always the most expensive.
Search and you should find one half their estimate.
Absolutely true.I’ve found that riding the tail of others vastly increases the likelihood of chips/cracks. Bad luck happens, but you can tweak those odds somewhat.
USAA covers small pits at no charge. Preempts possibility of having to cover the entire windshield if the crack expands. Recently, had a rock hit my windshield that made a 4-6 inch crack. $500 deductable.INsurance wont replace for micropits and small cracks..
