I got the battery replaced in May 2022. If I had known about the Buyback option, I would have taken it. Today I was contacted by a lawyer saying I could still be compensated and keep the car, but I would rather GM just buy it back. Is that still an option? Has anyone tried? I'm in California.

What aspect of the car (now) qualifies it to be a lemon? Typically, it's the state lemon laws that dictate the terms of the re-buy offer.
