2022 1LT vs. 2LT

GM makes a good product but you're exchanging your existing car for something very similar. Why?
If you're buying something new then there are so many other options. Much faster DCFC charging etc.
A used Bolt is a great buy but why a new Bolt with no rebates, etc?

Nick, I promised my niece that I would give her my 2020 Bolt Premier, when she turns 16 at the end of the month. She fell in love with the color ( Oasis Blue ) and all of the features - so I told her that she could have it.

I like the Ice Blue Metallic color of the 2022 Bolt, so that is what I will purchase - if available. I love the Bolt, as it does everything i need - with one big exception. If my shoulder heals up well, after recent surgery, I might go skiing, again, in Vermont, next January. The Bolt is no good for long trips ( almost 500 miles, one-way to Vermont ) in the dead of winter, when sub-zero temperatures prevail. For that trip, I can just borrow my sister's ICE SUV..

For all of my temperate and warm weather travels, the Bolt does just fine. The longest summer trip that I usually take, is to Montreal, Canada; a bit less than 500 miles one-way from my home. I usually break up the trip, 2 days up, and 2 days back. There is plenty of DC Fast charging in New York State, and all of my hotels have Level 2 chargers, so that I can get a full charge while I sleep. I realize that the Bolt has some shortcomings, but I always manage to work around them. It is a comfortable and fun car to drive.
You're a great uncle. Hope you find your 22 Bolt soon
