I read that apparently the 2022 Bolt EVs include a screw-removable panel on the bumper that allows you to install the Draw Tite hitch without cutting the fascia. Has anyone tried other hitch options like the EcoHitch on the 2022 MY? Wanting to get a hitch, and I might prefer the more solid 2” hitch, but I’d rather not cut the fascia. It’s confusing because both the Draw Tite and EcoHitch pages indicate the need for fascia trimming, likely carried over from previous years

What about this post?
Hi....
I just had the Draw Tie 24956 installed on my 2022 Bolt. It's actually EASIER to install on the 2022 than on earlier models. On the earlier models, you had to cut a section out of the rear bumper cover for the receiver tube to pass through. On the 2022's Chevy changed the rear bumper cover. There's a small screw-on panel in the bottom center of the bumper cover. Take that panel off and VOILA!, the receiver tube fits perfectly.
Also correct me if I’m wrong but those two images don’t seem to match the 22 EV. The lower tail lights are in the painted part of the vehicle and not the black bumper.

If you have a 2022 EV, the only hitch that I am aware of that requires no fascia trimming is the Draw tire 25002, which requires a frame drilling to install. It is also a 1.25” Class 1 hitch, rated for 200lbs tongue and 2000 lbs GTW.
