I hate that they all have the pedestrian/cyclist killer frontends, designed to crush their victims, rather than allowing them to slide up the hood. We will be keeping our original Bolt.
I've driven 140k miles on pre-2022 Bolts and, if I have my way, I'll be driving at least another 140k miles on them. Despite a few genuine improvements in 2022 (seats, Supercruise) and the option of the bigger EUV, I'm still convinced that GM got it right the first time, especially for someone who drives a lot on narrow mountain roads. I've learned a lot about battery care over the past 8 years and am always looking for tips on anything else I can do to keep the car running well for as long as possible.

I also think the original Bolt was a "right size" basic car. It had a constructibility (and repairability) problem, though: a lot of aluminum body panels. Needed to reduce weight (which it accomplished, but expensive to build with and expensive (or sometimes impossible) to repair. The EUV was redesigned with a lot more steel, which is easier to work with and fix. Nearly all rumors (edit: and now these "spy shots" of unknown provenance) suggest that the initial New Bolt release will be based on the EUV, with something more basic (and possibly smaller, such as the 2022-23 basic Bolt added with more steel use therefore heavier) later if the demand appears.

Now if they were trying to touch all the bases, I'd also suggest a Boltamino to compete with the Slate.

283 mile range in a Silverado is probably the Work Truck version - below LT trim and aimed at fleet sales. Very long range is not needed for trucks that will run 150-200 miles most days and return to base (where they can be recharged from L2 overnight) after every workday. Even if away from "home" they should be able to regain most of their range in an hour or less of charging at 150kw. Edit: especially if the won't usually be towing much.
Perfect for the majority of the truck owners who don't tow or haul anything. They just think truck makes them look tough. LOL

I agree with you although I'd add that GM got it just as right with the 2022-2023 Bolt EV. I had a 2021 and now have a 2022. It's the same car with a few refinements. I do appreciate the seat and control improvements along with the updated front end styling. GM used every styling trick in the book to make the 2022+ Bolt not look so narrow, but the width is exactly the same.

We got a 2023 EUV in a trade repurchase and ever since I missed the little 2021 Cayenne Orange Bolt we gave back to GM. So, in November I traded in my old Cruze Eco on a 2022 Bolt EV 2LT. My wife prefers our EUV which is fine with me. We are both happy now. 😊

I hope the LFP Bolt is a fantastic little car and finds many buyers. We will stand pat as our current Bolts more than meet our needs.

GM Authority has obtained spy shots of a partially camouflaged 2027 Chevy Bolt EV spotted testing, out and about. We knew GM’s BEV2 platform would carry over for the next-gen Bolt, and it would have some commonality with the old Chevy Bolt EUV, but these spy shots imply that the new Bolt will be even more similar to the old Bolt than we thought.

This still could be a Test Mule and not the actual vehicle BUT.....
I bet it has a frunk.

According to this article, the new Bolt will have a longer range (300+ miles) and faster charging capability.

The lower front grille appears to be bigger, so it will possibly go for a more conventional look like an ICE-powered crossover with a less prominent painted front shield than the old Bolt.

I like the painted front shield. It loudly says "EV" to everybody that sees it.

ETA: I'm surprised that there isn't a whole industry making wraps for the front shield, whether it's a shark mouth or something advertising your favorite sports team.

i wonder how many kwh it will take to get 300 miles out of LFP. he calls it an ev, but i thought gm had previously said euv only?
Maybe the article writer was confused? He even states that Super cruise will be available on Bolt EV whereas previously it was only available on the EUV.

The article suggests that there will be variants of the Bolt, so is it possible that they will again offer a Bolt EV as well as the EUV?

It'll be interesting to see how/if the instrument panel is changed. I still prefer the screen placement in the current bolt over how it is integrated in the Equinox. It keeping it the same layout but with the newer interface (and better Google Maps) would be pretty nice. Although this would mean the end of CarPlay/Android Auto which will disappoint some.

I've never driven or even sat in an Equinox EV, but I love the huge size of the screens! Maybe such a large screen isn't even possible in the smaller Bolt, but a bigger screen would be nice. With such a big screen, having it split between two different touch screens/pages would be helpful as well.

Battery chemistry means nothing directly for range. If an EV goes 4 miles/kWh, it will do the same with any kind of battery. The only question is how large (physically) that battery needs to be to provide 300 miles of range.
