Seems using the portable charge cord on 120v has significant overhead (wasted energy). I have a 5-20 outlet in my garage... what charger can I get to utilize that? This Tesla owner is seeing 2x increase in charge rate when switching form 5-15 to 5-20.

There are some 16 amp 120V chargers out there, but you should have a 5-20 outlet (& wiring) to run at that rate.

Is there no 240V service out to your garage? If there is service, but just no 240V outlets, you may be able to use one of those combiners that draws power from two separate 120V outlets (they have to be fed by different legs of the building 240V feed, so they are 180˚ out of phase with each other). That would double the charging rate you are getting now.
