Does anyone have pics of a Bolt with window tint all around? I don't like a fishbowl appearance, and want to do it on my Bolt, when I get one.
How was it in terms of cost and installation ease for the shop?
Also, what brand of film did they use? I have heard 3M makes a Crystalline brand and it's supposed to be good for visibility and UV ray rejection / cooling from heat transfer, etc.

Perfect color combo with the tinted windows, I want the Kinetic Blue color too. Is your interior cooler, and how is nighttime visibility?

Thanks, I really like the Kinetic Blue too. Now that I have the tint, black Chevy emblems and black Ca license plates, it's coordinated nicely.

No problems seeing at night, which is partly why I went with 40 instead of 20 in the back. It has been too cool outside so far to tell if the tint is helping to keep any heat out. Hopefully it will warm up soon to test. :)

Don't think nighttime visibility is going to be a problem with tints around 35-40 unless you're backing up on an unlit road. Best to check with your local regulations to see what's the maximum you can legally get.

I used to think that too until I had a car without tint for a certain amount of time. Tried driving a buddies car with 35% tint all around and I was actually struggling to see in the night. I had to put the windows down to park... I may just be getting old though

So I do plan on having my widows tinted on my Bolt, so some dumb questions.

How do they apply the film?
Do they have to remove all of the door panels and trim to get the film on? Is it done on the outside?
How do they get that small front qtr window done?

I have never had a car tinted, and have heard about having to remove the inside panels, cutting
the tint with razor blades with the film already on the glass, etc.

I have a place locally that advertises they only use 3m products, and
have a computer controlled laser cutting machine to cut exactly the perfect size for the glass being done.

Just curious about the process, and I am hoping my new car won't be torn apart for tint...

For Bolt's, tint shops should have something pre-cut and ready to go, but in this video you will see it being cut on the spot. From what I see they don't remove any door panels:

Haven't really seen anyone remove door panels to do tint. I have seen people remove rear deck lids to get to the back window though and a third brake light at times when necessary.

WOW!

Great video. Thanks for that. I think it's worth the money after seeing that being done.
It is, just as long as you have a reputable shop. That alone can make or break your entire experience. Often people make the mistake of calling the number on the first window tinting sign they see, don't be that guy.

That's really key. I have a bunch of buds that tell me they "know a guy" that can tint windows for $100 and I'm always saying "uh....no" because I've seen the quality and what not. I rather pay double the price to know I'm getting real good quality service and materials.

I put 15% on rear window and back-glass + over it put a red one! So from the outside looks like "regular" window tint but once inside is totally awesome, the red effect..
If needed I can put pictures of it..

I'd definitely like some pictures of that as I'm having a hard time visualizing the red effect :)

.....Could you even see the Bolt at all under all of that snow ?!
Barely not, but I know where I park my car the night before so I knew where it was , but all my driveway takes me 3 hours with my snowblower..

For the original subject, I'll take picture of the windows once the car was clean..
