I’ve gotten my 2019 Bolt. Very happy with it. According to MyChevrolet App site the only Android phones compatible with the MyChevrolet app are the Samsung Galaxy Android phones. IOS (iPhones) are also compatible.
I tried to connect my LG V30 and sure enough it didn’t work. Bluetooth connected no problem. It’s just the MyChev App that’s the issue. My iPhone connected no problem.
Just wondering if anyone had success connecting any other brand of Android phone.
Thanks

Wow. Good to see other Android phones are working with it. Thanks for the responses everyone. I’m going to give it another try with my LG V30 and see if I can get it to pair up.
Thx

I've used it on a Nexus 6P and a Pixel 2 XL without issue.

Just out of curiosity, how is it failing? Your comments about BT make it sound like you may actually be talking about Android Auto.

Android Auto is fine. Bluetooth is fine. The LG phone is not syncing up in the MyChev app during initial setup. The icon just keeps spinning on the screen in the Bolt like it can’t sync up. I’ll try again tonight and see what happens,.

Thanks

It seems you are talking about the short ranged keypass functionality of the app and not internet connectivity functionality of the app. You need to specify which you're talking about.

My Sony xperia xz1 works fine with internet connectivity after speaking to onstar to get my account fixed. If you cannot get this functionality to work only onstar can fix it.

The keypass functionality does not work on my phone and keeps spinning for pairing. Sometimes I'll get a keypass paired device listed on my Bluetooth devices but the app never recognizes that it's there and just spins trying to pair. Edit: I did get the keypass to finally work. The only difference is the trial data for the vehicles wifi is now active. It seems the phone may need to be connected to the vehicles wifi and that wifi needs active data.

I have it working on my Moto X4, it also worked on my LG G5.

It doesn't work well but I don't think that has anything to do with the phone.

KeyPass setup/pairing is notorious for being buggy, I was able to get it working on both phones but I had to try several times and used some frankly silly tricks (I read about online) to get it to work.

When I was trying to get it to work I called OnStar support and they did try to help but told me that I did not have a "supported" phone. As I recall their list of "supported" phones was a very short list of non-current (2-3 years old) Samsung Phones.

From my recollection you need to turn off mobile data (and wifi) before you start the KeyPass setup, but once it sees the car sees the phone you need to turn mobile data back on to complete the process.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll try this.

I was unable to connect to my car through MYChevy App after multiple tries just a couple of hours ago. I brought the phone out to the car, started the car and tried reconnecting. That's what it needed....works fine now.

KeyPass still giving me problems. A couple of times I got close. Got to the point where the QR code came up on the Bolt’s display but the app was still pairing and didn’t launch the QR reader.
Would like to have this working to start precondition via Bluetooth with going through OnStar. I’ll try again tomorrow.

Works fine with Moto X2, Moto Z play, and Moto G5S+

Tried Keypass a few times and eventually gave up, I just use the keyfob if close or the App with OnStar if not close. Keypass is a bit buggy and the last reason IIRC that I removed it was phone battery drain...
