I'm guessing you are talking about the CarPlay app. My phone connects to it every time I drive the car but I have not noticed much drain on the battery. But when I connect to the OBD reader, the battery will go down quickly and the phone gets warm.
Carplay isn’t an app, it’s a feature built into the iPhone software.I'm guessing you are talking about the CarPlay app. My phone connects to it every time I drive the car but I have not noticed much drain on the battery. You are correct, the MyChevy app. I tried the reinstall method previously when I noticed this happening at other times. Is the app the MyChevrolet app?
I use it all the time on my iPhone12, never have an issue with it running down the battery.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app to see if that helps.
Check the settings / battery and see if MyChevrolet is using a lot of battery capacity. You are correct, the MyChevy app. I tried the reinstall method previously when I noticed this happening at other times.
It shows up on my infotainment center as an app. Only selectable if the phone is near the car.Carplay isn’t an app, it’s a feature built into the iPhone software.
I understand what you’re saying, but there’s no CarPlay app on an iPhone. The OP was having an issue with MyChevrolet app, not Carplay. It shows up on my infotainment center as an app. Only selectable if the phone is near the car.
I see, thanks.I understand what you’re saying, but there’s no CarPlay app on an iPhone. The OP was having an issue with MyChevrolet app, not Carplay.
Apps can hang, even on iOS (iPhones). Next time, you could try force closing the app:Did a quick search and didn’t see a solution that could find.
Drove home today with my phone @ 80% starting. In 30 minutes, my phone dropped to 55% and was warm to the touch. Battery in settings said it was all from the Chevy app. I have the app background refresh disabled. IOS is latest version, along with the app.
Anyone figure out a solution to this problem? In the meantime, I’ve deleted the app.
Check to make sure background refresh is turned off.I was curious, so had to take a look at my iPhone's battery usage. This is the 10-day usage chart, and I am surprised at how much the MyChevrolet app is utilizing. I don't have any problems with battery drain, but still worth noting.

I had the same problem when phone was connected to Bolt USB. Doesn’t seem to be doing it anymore.I had the same issue, during the last few weeks this app had been draining the battery in my iPhone 14 Pro.
