My 2021 Chevy Bolt Premiere has still not updated the time since we changed to Daylight-Saving Time on Sunday (4-days now).

I have changed it manually. The moment I change the setting back to Automatic Update: ON - Cell Network, it reverts back to standard time. I have driven it quite a few times since Sunday. I have always had my iPhone connected via Bluetooth and tried it through Apple CarPlay to no avail. I have been through every single option in the settings menu within the car and myChevrolet app. I have made updates to the WiFi, made sure my address is correct, called OnStar--what a waste of time, and called the dealership.

I am going to try a factory reset before taking it to the dealer tomorrow. It is connecting as I am getting the connection messages upon startup; all the icons are showing connections to OnStar, my phone, and the 4GLTE WiFi network.

Lot of work for such a small problem, but IT SHOULD WORK.

Mine has the same issue (2019). It has done it automatically in the past...... but not this time.

Just to expand on what I posted earlier. Mine didn't update either so I set it to manual and updated it myself. When I turn "Auto - cell network" back on, it immediately goes back an hour to the wrong time. I think this proves that the car is getting a signal and setting the time automatically: it's just the wrong time. I see two possibilities. One is that the time hasn't been updated on the cell network. I find that hard to believe since it should cause everyone with a cellphone to be on the wrong time. The other possibility is that the software in the Bolt has the wrong time offset: it is receiving the correct time but applying the wrong offset. I'm a software engineer and have dealt with this myself. You can get a time from a server but you usually get UTC and you have to apply your own local offset. So to get the hour correct, you have to depend on the OS to apply the correct local offset which requires the time zone be set properly and the OS to return the proper offset based on time zone + DST.

Anyhoo... My guess is that the Bolt is receiving the correct time but not applying the correct local offset. Why it's doing that now and not before, I'm not sure.

Every car I have owned with GPS time fails to handle DST properly.

I have actually had better luck with the Bolt, it seems to either get time from the OnStar cell connection, or my phone. Usually takes several minutes to adjust due to poor cell signals in my area. But, this time I have yet to drive my Bolt since the update due to several feet of snow and impassable roads, maybe get out this afternoon.

I am not aware of any updates to the Bolt software in the last few years since the initial update in mid-2018, so I expect it will just work.

Wow! Our Bolt is a time machine! I went to the dentist this am. Arrived early. The clock said 7.53 I looked away, and looked back. It now said 7:33. I checked my phone...7:53 am. On the way home, it was right again.
