I’m curious, for those driving a 2020 Bolt with the advertised range of 259 miles. What does your average range say when fully charged? I guess that’s three related questions,

What is your average listed range when fully charged?
How many miles are on your 2020 bolt?
What is your lifetime efficiency mi/kWh?

I think the lifetime efficiency that spans at least a year might be worth looking at. Range at a full charge can vary significantly by the season or driving conditions.

Your estimated range is based on recent driving and current HVAC settings, not your lifetime efficiency.

Yeah, in order to compare your average range to another 2020, you'd have to compare to someone near you (similar climate), who drives like you do, same type of terrain, and drives the same general speeds. Even then, there are other factors such as how you use the HVAC system, whether you haul other people (kids to school) and so on. My 2019 averages about 208 miles when I charge to 80% which would give it about 260 miles if charged to 100%. But I live in flatland (FL) where it's warm and do very little highway driving so I wouldn't expect to compare it to others.

Also, lifetime efficiency can't be relied on IMO (via the mychevyapp anyway). My 2019 vehicle is so far off in the app; I have no idea where Chevrolet gets my data from. It's a meaningless metric in the app for my Bolt.

It's unfortunate the odometer doesnt have an A and a B setting for efficiency so I could have saved my own lifetime efficiency on my dash.

Jeff, I live in the Chicagoland area and purchased a 2020 Bolt Premier with DCFC last August. When I first got the Bolt I was charging to 100% SOC and my avg mile/kWh range was in the 4.2-4.3 miles/kWh (combination of around town and highway driving w/ AC on). Ambient temps were in the 70-80 deg. F range.

I did a quick test back in Aug. with full 100% SOC and did a series of ‘around town’ trips (~40mph stop and go) and certainly got between 5.1. - 5.3 miles/kWh and I was pleased to say the least! This was with AC off, windows up, gradual starts from stoplights... typical hyper milling techniques.

Now, with our Chicago temps in the 30’s F. range, my avg mi/kWh range seems to be about 3.1-3.2 miles/kWh. This is with cabin heat ON and set at 75 deg.

what I noticed in the colder weather is my tire pressures drop significantly from summer tire pressures of ~40psi down to ~36psi. Certainly doesn’t help range, but I’m getting used to the significant range changes from summer to winter.

During the winter months, I only charge to 60% SOC and hopefully improve my battery life over the long term.

The efficiency number gets reset from reprogramming, so it's pretty useless for what you want anyway.

I'm new, 3 weeks, 2020 Bolt EV Premier. Here's what I was seeing this morning after a level 1 full charge.
Chevy App = range was 212

Bolt maximum = 250
Bolt average = 212
Bolt minimum = 173

Temperature outside, 27 degrees. Inside the garage where the Bolt is parked, 42 degrees.

We are in similar conditions. I have yet to see my max above 200 with 6 weeks ownership. Granted we had a strange failed battery straight out the gate but still even after repair highest was 191. Hoping it goes up! I really feel like I did not fully understand the way it works but that was my fault in not researching.I read 259 and felt it would be closed to that. It’s not. Still love the car but we are sticking to 30 mile commutes for now.

LOL we get about 207 at 85%, We don't charge to 100%, unless on a long trip. 3.2 miles per kw.
