As I previously mentioned, because ours is mostly local use, we don't reset the average screen on our 2017 and for five years, the display said 3.5. After the battery replacement, the miles still show the same total, but the average is now 4.4. What is/was going on?

It resets the average to a default of something like 4.4. Mine has reset every time I've had a software update (and the pack replacement) even though I've never reset the mileage on the trip meter or anything else.

Thanks for the reply. Is it just me or is resetting the average while retaining the previous mileage just FUBAR? Obviously, either the previous 3.5 was correct and the new 4.4 is incorrect, or vice-versa. Why would any software programmer think resetting the average to a selected baseline but indicating it was the result of five years of mileage provides useful information?

It might make sense to reset after the pack replacement since the kWh used gets reset to apply to the new pack.

But for a software update it makes less sense. Maybe some data gets wiped during the update and they just start over. 🤷‍♂️
