Hello all Bolters. Does the battery cooling liquid only flow through battery chambers when car is running and battery is hot? Does it need car to be running to do so? Does it do anything else?
Thanks.
Thanks.
If you circulate the coolant without heating, or cooling it, all you will do is bring the battery to ambient outside temperature faster. Thanks a lot. So the heater heats the fluid that then heats the battery. I thought if it did not freeze it is still warmer than outside ambient temperature and circulating without heating it would work by itself.
Unless we have a liquid that stays at a constant say 50 degrees F regardless of ambient outside temperature. Somewhat like geothermal pumps used for cooling and heating using water from the ground. If you circulate the coolant without heating, or cooling it, all you will do is bring the battery to ambient outside temperature faster.
No, it does not flow all the time. The circulating pump only runs when the AC chiller, or tankless battery heater, are called for.
- no, the cooling liquid flows all the time
With L2, It waits until it is done charging. If the battery is outside spec'ed temperature then, it will condition it.The video says it does it too while L2 charging, but I haven't seen it do that.
