I am new to the EV world. My Bolt has 1700 miles on it. I was wondering how long we can expect the battery pack to last. My long range concern will he when we reach the 100k mile level. At the rate I am going, I will reach that at in year 5.

NewsCoulomb who used to freqent this site has posted a 100k update on his Bolt. You can find it here:

His discussion on the battery starts about the 8:45 mark in the video. Short answer is about 9% dedregation with most of that occuring relatively early on. He put 100K on his Bolt in 2.5 years with heavy use of DCFC charging. It's unlikely that many people are going to put that much pressure on their Bolts for 100K.

So my take is not to worry too much. Chevy designed everything in the battery system very conservatively. So the battery should be usable for a long long time.

I appreciate the info. I also suppose that if a cell was to go bad after the 100,000 mile mark that it could be repaired/replaced. I know I am driving about 18,000 miles a year. Truthfully, I do see myself changing/upgrading by year 4-5 for something that that is the latest tech.
