Found this post on Tesla forum, interesting graph of battery stress in relation to SOC.

Model 3: Charge to 80% or 90%?

80 is better unless you need 90. The data I have seen shows significant growth in the degradation curve above 80. Could you share those data? I’ve mostly seen anecdotes and conjectures. I’d love some actual data.

Yup. This has been general knowledge for lithium ion batteries for a decade. Ideally, determine your daily battery use...say you need 40% of your capacity...then charge to 70%, and discharge to 30%, and you will obtain the maximum battery life. This has been stated publicly by every battery researcher, and corporate battery designer....even Elon Musk himself. Although he walked this back some for marketing reasons, as EV true believers don't want to hear about any limitations.
