I was about to go get a permit to add a NEMA 14-50 to my garage... maybe now I'll add a 6-15 too.

I bought one of those to try at my in-laws house to double my oem charge speed.
Unfortunately, I havent had the chance to try it out yet to see how hot it gets; If i do, I will post an update.
For the price I figured what the heck, I'd try it as they have a 6-20 recepticle and I'd love to be able to fully charge in ~24 hours if visiting (as opposed to 48 odd hours with 120v).

(they live in central Alabama and there is virtually no DCFC infrastructure in that state )
Electrify America is supposed to be installing one during Phase 2 next year though on my route, so :::fingerscrossed:::

I ordered a couple... My BiL just got a Bolt.

The welder socket adapter in the post also looks interesting. I made one with that configuration, 5-15 to 6-50. Those 6-50s are a lot more common in garages than 6-15/20... which are mostly used in wall AC units?

I would stay away from 220v 3 pin receptacles... You might be shocked to find the third pin is connected to neutral.
