I suppose I might start a new thread for this question, but this seems close enough:For what it's worth, the first-generation Volt has that same matte black plastic area along the bottom. I placed the stickers there back in 2012, and they haven't fallen off yet.
Curious. Mine came within 3 weeks of mailing in the paperwork. I wonder if they process them in blocks, and I got in just before the block was processed.Just got mine. Ordered 1/21 so that makes it three months!!! Way to go DMV- NOT!!!
I sent in the application as soon as I got my plates. They returned it two weeks later saying I had the address wrong. A couple days later I got a call from the sales guy at Fremont Chevrolet saying they had my stickers. I went over and picked them up.I wonder if you can get them faster by just going down to the DMV and handing in the paperwork in person? I'm still waiting for my plates, so I'm a long way off.
I placed mine in exactly the same location. As noted in other posts, it is unlikely that they will last very long on the plastic surface. You placed yours exactly where I placed mine, and I think this is a better placement than on the black plastic. The black plastic is not a smooth surface, so I don't think the stickers will stay put as well as on the smooth body panels.
Awesome! One of my best friends bought a Leaf only to be able to use the HOV lanes. They matter that much to him. He actually hates the car and uses his old Prius for around town and chores. The Leaf is just to get work and back. When he first got it, he experienced serious range anxiety and it really soured him on it. It went into limp mode on the freeway.Just got my stickers this past weekend and installed them parallel to the seam between the painted and black plastic portions of the bumper. I was planning on installing the side ones level, but it just ended up looking funny for some reason.
My first commute in the carpool lanes today was life-changing! The commute has gone from 1:15-1:30 all the way down to 40 minutes!![]()

I don't have my HOV stickers yet, but I'm seriously thinking of flouting the law like you. I really hate the stickers, but I suspect that as long as a cop sees you have one, they're not going to stop you. Please keep us apprised if you do get stopped.First off, I used just one sticker. I put it on the glass rear hatch near the Chevy logo. Anyone can see it. No one is going to stop you for placing it there. The problem with my other cars is when you try and remove them. On the paint they seem to become one in the same. On the glass it is surrounded by black glass and stands out. It does not hinder my rear view. Perfect.

I'm with Cardyin on this one. From afar, the decals that are not parallel to the ground look crooked to me.I made mine parallel with the ground. You'll always have the frame of reference of the ground beneath the car, so at least to me, the decals would always look crooked if they weren't "straight" with the ground.
I assume the contents of the stickers are the same, shouldn't be too bad if you stick one somewhere highly visible. Unless the cop is having a really bad day, they'll probably want to catch ppl who are speeding.First off, I used just one sticker. I put it on the glass rear hatch near the Chevy logo. That's my assumption. I'm sure it's fix it ticket at worst.I assume the contents of the stickers are the same, shouldn't be too bad if you stick one somewhere highly visible. Unless the cop is having a really bad day, they'll probably want to catch ppl who are speeding.
