I am having a problem with the latch that holds the center console closed. It is not the problem others have reported that they need to move the cover back to open it.
The actual latch on the center console has broken off. I am having difficulty trying to figure how to put it back on. Looking at the latch it does not appear that it is broken. However trying to push it back into the console does not work. It does not go in far enough.

I am attaching pictures of the latch and the hole it is supposed to go into. If anyone has done this would appreciate any insight. I went to the dealer think it would be an easy fix but they want two hours of billed time to disassemble the cover to try to fix.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

This just happened to my 2020 Bolt. After some consternation, I managed to reinstall the latch easily.

First, open the console lid by releasing the internal latch.

While the lid is open, slide / extend the top half of the lid / arm rest forward.

This will make it possible to reinstall the latch which popped out. Be sure that both springs are in place.

Now, while the lid is open, slide the top of the arm rest back into the short position.

Now, close the lid. It should work as normal now.

This fix works perfectly. So easy to do. You'll think "why didn't I think of that?
