That's surprising. I haven't heard of the fix only lasting a week. Have you had New Program Issued for 2017-2019 Bolts N222369400 August... applied? We are continuing to experience this problem with our 2019 Bolt. We’ve been back to the dealer 4 times in the past year. The dealer fix only lasts about one week or so. We are lucky that one plug at a municipal building near us will still click in enough to charge the car. But, no long distance trips for us! I am not comfortable disconnecting the 12v battery. Period. How can we get through to Chevy to fix this issue once & for all? P.S. we are still waiting for our replacement battery! Not happy at the moment with Chevy!!
Welcome to the forum. Glad you got it working. Yes, there's a fix now. #N222369400 - MY: 17-19Question: Has GM/Chevy figured out a software upgrade for this "feature"?
Yikes. Had a similar experience once but resolved it by calling the station's customer service. They did a reset and it let go.FYI This happened to me when a connector at a public station wouldn't unlock and i had to pullit out with force.
I would toss a bucket, or two of hot water in there. Don't use a leaf blower, or hose. to avoid forcing stuff where it doesn't belong with pressure. There should never be any electricity at those contacts unless the car is receiving a signal from the plug. But with the car turned off, the battery is totally disconnected from the car anyway. You aren't going to get electrocuted. What's a safe way to clean the inside of my charge port? I can use wd40 electrical contact cleaner... A leaf blower... Or spray water into it as a last resort.

Thanks so much for sharing this fix! My 2019 bolt had this issue yesterday as I was trying to charge, with only 45 miles of range left. I was starting to panic, but thank God saw your post and it worked. I had called the Chevy dealer to see if they had any insight into the problem, not only did they not have any insight but they didn't seem to give a rat's patootie. Does anybody know if GM has offered a solution?Hi Boltemort,
Good and bad news... our 2019 pre-recall-fix is having the same issue. It seems to have started since the software update that limited charging for safety.
Bad news, no one seems to know anything about it or if there is a fix or if it is a hardware or software failure.
Good news, I have a workaround that works, but is rather a PITA.
You are right that the issue isn't the latch itself, but the locking pin behind the latch. The pin should lock the latch in place during charging to prevent inadvertent disconnects, but for some reason it decides randomly every couple of days to lock when there is nothing plugged in, thus preventing the cable from being fully seated.
We've tried every possible easy solution under the sun to get it to unlock, but we've found only one PITA solution that works... pulling the 12v, waiting a minute or two, and reconnecting it. Fixes it every time, and is a complete and total pain... good reason to make sure you have a 10mm in your car at all times.
Good luck!

It took only the time to disconnect and reconnect the negative cable to hear the motor work to retract the latch on my '19 Bolt...twice so far.Hi Boltemort,

Thanks for the pix and the info. I am experiencing the same problem. The latch is upright being propped up by the projected pin. Unfortunately, the 12v battery disconnect/reconnect is doing nothing. My car has had new traction batteries installed. Are there any other proven resets possible? Could there be a blown fuse?
What very same issue? The original software problem for which the recall is available, a different problem with software, or sand in the mechanism?I had this very same issue as well and the battery disconnect / reconnect worked like a charm.
