Yep, its totally fine for my short daily commute (16mi RT). Longer winter road trips, over ~150mi, are a bit of a hassle compared to an ICE though.
In a Bolt I think I could handle up to 300 miles -- one long stop somewhere in the middle. Beyond that I would take my P2, but other than when I was much younger, I rarely drive more than that anywhere.

Oil companies ;)
So far, it's mostly been older ICE "hot rodders". Local guy works for the electric company, friends with the local car club president, a few others and I usually get invited to the weekly car show to show off the EV. And every week, the same batch of clowns come down to talk us down, tell us how bad of a decision we made, etc.etc.etc. And every week it's the same thing...I win the discussion. Every **** week :D

Took mine to a Cars & Coffee last fall. Was one of 2 EVs there (the other was a F150 that left early). Lots of interesting olde stuff there, but I didn't get much disparaging - only some interest. Oh yes, and unlike the Ford, when I opened the hood, there was stuff there to talk about other than luggage space. And (lack of) stupid high price.

I think it's OK to acknowledge that the Bolt's loss of range in the winter is among the worst for EVs. It's not just Recurrent (although they are most frequently cited) - another is AAA. The main culprit is HVAC:

Without HVAC, range loss from 75 F to 20 F:
BMW i3: 20%
Nissan Leaf: 10%
Chevy Bolt: 10%
Tesla Model S: 11%
VW e-Golf: 7%

With HVAC, range loss from 75 F to 20 F:
BMW i3: 50%
Bolt: 47%
Nisan Leaf: 31%
Tesla Model S: 38%
VW e-Golf: 36%

AAA: https://www.aaa.com/AAA/common/AAR/files/AAA-Electric-Vehicle-Range-Testing-Report.pdf

What would be helpful for consumers is for the EPA to require standardized winter range reporting for EVs, similar to what South Korea apparently requires:

New to the post, just my 2 cents but i drive 58 miles per day, 6 days a week in North Dakota from 100 above to 30 below with my Chevy Bolt, my summer range is 240 to 275 miles per charge, my winter range when below 20 degrees is around 110 to 130 miles, thats with precondition battery and interior. Takes major hit in winter but would not give car up, best work car i have had in 27 years that i have lived on the farm
Wow, I think you are a brave individual. I don't think N. Dakota is very friendly toward EVs. When I was little my parents lived in Stanton. Whereabouts are you?

I'm in Minot. Vast majority of the clowns I talk to that immediately 'don't like EVs because' this/that/the-other...almost immediately change their mind when I tell them that there's exactly 13 moving parts between the motor and the 4 wheels...including the 4 wheels.

Side note...I just drove by Stanton yesterday coming back from Beulah.

I am from western part of state and ill agree that pretty much majority have no open mind to evs in most of northern states, even where i work my fellow techs will give me the worst razing over driving my Bolt. I drive farther and usually beet them all to work in bad weather. Have to charge at home or work because our charging infastructure is pretty much nill. I think everything west of Fargo has no more then 50 kw chargers and only one per city or town

I've been searching all the small towns when I'm out and about for at least L2/NEMA14-50 charging opportunities at city parks, etc. I put most of what's on plugshare for the northern half at least, and a fair amount in the southern half and a lot of western SD and eastern MT as well. Not that L2 is where it's at, but if a guy screws himself, at least there's a way out.
