I just noticed today that my 2019 Bolt LT makes a weird loud clicking noise when selecting gears. I think I only heard it because it was quite warm today ( 23c ) and I had the window down when parking.

Heard it, pressed on brake and selected another gear...CLICK CLICK....selected yet another gear.....CLICK CLICK......and the selected PARK...CLICK CLICK.

Sounds like it is coming from under the car. Gonna call Chevy about it tomorrow and see what's up.

Any ideas? Never had any issues until now.

Perhaps but I have been around Bolts that have shifted into gear with me standing by....never heard that sound before.

If you've ever watched the weber vids on the Bolt, it actually shifts a mechanical lever. It's not just electronic.
Exactly. When you shift in or out of Park the drive unit engages the parking pawl, and when you shift in or out of "reverse" it engages a solenoid which, as far as I can tell, doesn't actually do anything significant. I've always assumed it's there just because it's a standard part that's used on every other car.
