I want to explorer southeastern Arizona in my 2017 Bolt and the only charging stations that I can find in the neighborhood on PlugShare are NEMA 14-50 outlets at RV parks and hotels. Will the ClipperCreek EV Charging Station (240V, 16A with 14-50 plug) (see link below) work with my Bolt? Are there other options that would work as well? Please advise.

yes, it will work. any reason for selecting 16 amp? the Bolt can use up to 32 amps to give you twice the charge rate. that's significant if you're planning to drive long distances.

It will work.

Here is a more versatile option.

Thanks for your response, XJ12!

Strictly cost …. 16A goes for $395 and 32A goes for $589 …. and I won't use it very often … There's pretty good charging coverage here in AZ w/ the Bolt's range and where I normally travel …. except in SE Arizona in and around Chiricahua National Monument where I plan to visit. Do you have an estimate of the difference in charging rate (mi/hr) of 16A vs 32A for the Bolt?

Thanks!

The one I linked to is cheaper and can run at lower amperage, if you are tripping the breaker. Just because it is a 14-50 outlet, don't assume they will be running a 40 amp breaker. I have seen them with a 30 amp.

The full 32 amps EVSE gives a possible 25 miles per every one hour of charging. Would be half that for 16 amps.

If you're handy, you could put a $75 J adapter on a $300 Tesla EVSE.

Any recommendations re an adapter from a 30 amp outlet to my EVSE 14-50 plug?
Trip to the hardware store? Get a 14-50 receptacle and a dryer cord that matches your 30 amp socket type. Make sure your EVSE is no higher than 24 amps.

or something like this:
