Hello everyone! I am seriously considering getting this Chevy Bolt 2017 Premiere. I drove it yesterday and have a few more EVs to drive. I am a 2 time Prius owner and looking to make the jump to full EV. I also drove the Volt and I have driven a Tesla. I am driving Hyundai today - but the fact that the Bolt has the most impressive cargo space of all the ones I've driven so far is a big seller for me.

The car's previous owner was most likely (says the dealer) a higher-level worker (engineer) from the factory as the car has other features and things that are not normally on market.

I'd greatly appreciate if those more knowledgeable than I could take a peek at it and let me know if there's any reason NOT to buy this vehicle?

I have had my 2017 Bolt EV Premier (Blue) since May, 2017. The cargo space was large enough for my bicycle (front wheel off) to fit easily. I liked it much better than the BMW i3. That low mileage vehicle in Albion may be a very good deal depending on the price. I have had few problems with LCTRCBLU and spend ~$20 per year for tire rotation (twice). I had the metallic tape creating a "window" for blindspot surveillance slip out of place (fairly common). The fix was quick and free. This has been my only maintenance needed. I have had one OTA update (infotainment) and one at-a-dealership (SoC indication, if I recall correctly) update. Everywhere my wife and I go together, we take the Bolt EV as we prefer to travel for 2.5 cents a mile vs 20 cents per mile. I am a frequent long-distance (>750 mile RT) traveler. Good luck in your decision and welcome aboard!

Specifically what "features and things not normally on the market" are on this vehicle?

The carfax says it's a "corporate fleet vehicle" and in the area where it was (near the Detroit factory) indicates most likely it was someone who worked at the factory.

I wouldn't place any faith in anything the dealer has to say, my advice is to judge the car on its own merits.

I went to a 2017 Premiere Bolt from a Prius C and I couldn't be happier. Assuming that the car is in good shape, I think you'll be glad you made the change.

Based on the photos, it looks like it has DCFC (under the orange cover in the charge port) and Driver Confidence II package (the large housing behind the rear view mirror with the camera/sensors aimed forward through the windshield) -- i.e. all of the possible factory options besides exterior/interior color (for the 2017 model year, the Driver Confidence II package required the Premier trim with the Infotainment package).

What "features and things nor normally on the market" are being referred to?

"Corporate fleet vehicle" could have been for a specific driver, or it could have been in a pool where any driver needing a company car that day could use it.

These sound like the same things that any Premier has w/ the DCII package. That is it sounds like exactly what I have in my car that I bought in Dec 2017. FWIW, I got mine OTD at $35,896 (Hawthorne Chevrolet in NJ). After the $7500 and no NJ sales tax on EVs this made it $28,396. My employer at the time also offered another $4100 on top (they had an eco investment programme for employees to "invest" in environmentally friendly products) so my all in was $24,296 all said and done.

I really like my 2017 Premier with the all around camera and automatic collision avoidance. I see it has the Bose sound system (with a sub woofer) and the DCFC port which should be mandatory option IMHO. I did have to upgrade the seats and to add some add padding, but for $200-$300 at a upholstery shop, it is now very comfortable. It is a great car and I can't be happier with it..... Make them an offer for 23k and they will probably take it....

One reason I didn't get the Premier was that after 3 years the warranty (not on the battery) will be expired. What you will have is a lot of extraneous electronic accessories going bad. (after all, it's just a GM car) If you are willing to pay to fix the accessories when they break, fine. Or let them remain broken. That's why I ordered the basic Bolt initially. I think the same will be true for the Teslas. Lots of bells and whistles to eventually break...

Are you me?

Honestly, I wanted and got a basic LT as well and I didn't want any more features since in CA, it doesn't get that cold, but summers are hot so opted without all the heaters/etc. I have a German ICE car and it has an error currently that the dealer didn't fix or knew how to. Like you say, more tech features, more tech problems since that's just the nature of things. If you don't have it (like power seats), that part can't break electronically (I guess a lever or something mechanical can break though).

The only thing in the Premier I really like is the 360 camera, but since the 2019 doesn't have HD cameras, I didn't want to pay for the older version and it was 3k more usually for Premier.

Not being spoiled already with all the driver assist like autopilot or lane assist/adaptive this or that, ignorance is bliss I guess. Don't even have a 4k TV still and was watching a mono TV when 1080p was a thing. Must be a sign of old age and just not caring.

OTOH, I have a friend loves BEVs and buys anything with new bells and whistles. He has the most expensive Bolt, Tesla and BMW i3. He's on the waiting list for both the CyberTruck and the Rivian. BTW, he's an old retired guy.

According to Toyota, there is a battery shortage, so he's depriving someone of several BEV's. :(
