I ordered coverking neosupreme covers for the front seats and they arrived today. Unfortunately it's raining <shakes his fist at the sky>, so I had to stop after partial installation. I did not want to work hurriedly with the car door open. I'll take pictures in the next few days when it stops raining...
I was looking for cheap covers to protect the seats during the lease and these were ~ $150 including taxes and shipping.
Their mesh covers would have been cheaper, and they might do better in warm California weather, but I thought the open mesh might be difficult to keep clean and vacuum. (Bad experience removing sand from running mesh shoes.) So 'Neosupreme' it is and this is what it looks like:
Note that these are not neoprene covers (although coverking does offer a neoprene version for the Bolt). 'Neosupreme' is their name for a material that is "almost, but not quite, entirely unlike neoprene". Perhaps the knit isn't as fine, but still feels very nice (much nicer than what I expected for the cost), and it's definitely the type of material I would expect to last more than a few years and be easy to clean.
I picked charcoal and black thinking darker would be easier to keep looking nice and it fits the interior color scheme of the LT surprisingly well. The color scheme looks like this (the picture is not showing the Bolt's seat configuration).
They have an installation video online and so far installation has been super easy. Probably took 5 minutes to put on the headrest covers, pull the seat covers over both seats and pass the buckles through the gaps. Looking forward to finishing the setup once the rain stops. ?
