Hi - we just ordered a new 2019 Bolt and the dealer recommended an additional exterior coating to protect the car.
Let me know if anyone has purchased this option and can share results.
Thanks:nerd:

Geeze... they still try to push this crap on customers?

Tell them Rusty Jones retired in the 80's (along with undercoating and glass etching)

My car came standard with an exterior coating.

All Bolts do.

It’s called clear coat, and it’s put on at the factory over the paint.

For extra protection, a coat of car wax a couple of times a year will do the trick.

If you want paint protection get a paint protection film applied to the vehicle. I had my entire front of vehicle, mirrors, fenders, hood, bumper, and the top of the rear bumper wrapped. I also had the windows tinted. It was about $2,000 but it has already saved me from a couple of road hazards. The big one being a cement truck hitting a bump on the highway and peppering the front of my car with dried cement pellets. All that was there is dust and with the PPF it just wiped off.
