My car came standard with an exterior coating.

All Bolts do.

It’s called clear coat, and it’s put on at the factory over the paint.

For extra protection, a coat of car wax a couple of times a year will do the trick.

I would go with a good ceramic coating about every 1-2 years depending on how harsh your environment- many coatings out there for about $40. Many YouTube videos on how to do this.

If you want paint protection get a paint protection film applied to the vehicle. I had my entire front of vehicle, mirrors, fenders, hood, bumper, and the top of the rear bumper wrapped. I also had the windows tinted. It was about $2,000 but it has already saved me from a couple of road hazards. The big one being a cement truck hitting a bump on the highway and peppering the front of my car with dried cement pellets. All that was there is dust and with the PPF it just wiped off.
