Has anybody, anywhere gotten / seen deals on the 2018 model year Bolts yet?

The prices in my area (not far from Fremont / San Jose, CA) for both purchase and lease seem to be the same for 2019 and 2018 models (2019s have supposedly arrived in the area).

There are only 2 places I've found in Northern Calif with leases under $400/mo, and those are for only 10k miles annually and hefty down/acq payments up front, with high overage cost per mile (total cost of $350/$360 per month, however).

Hmmm. Fremont Chevy is listing a bunch at $5K off MSRP, and Capital Chevy has quite a few at $4500 off MSRP.

Those weren't there last week.

Yeah, it turns out that several dealers in my area have quietly started offering $3500-$5000 off (certain) new 2018 Bolts. I haven't seen any advertising in the paper, but going directly to each dealer's website finds lowered prices.

It looks like the discounts on 2018 MY Bolts have started in earnest - no discounts to be found on 2019s.

Purchase :
Gilroy Chevrolet : 2018 models about $5500 off MSRP

Fremont Chevrolet : 2018 models about $5000 off MSRP

Capitol Chevrolet (San Jose) : 2018 models about $4000 off MSRP

Momentum (San Jose) : 2018 models about $3500 off MSRP

Leasing, Fremont Chevy has '18 Bolts at $350/mo 'total cost' ($6000 drive-off, then $189/mo)

Edit: 2018 LEAFs are only getting discounted $2000-$3000 in the San Jose area, so (at the moment) you can get a 2018 Bolt for just a teeny bit more than a LEAF.

(The 2019 LEAF isn't here yet ...)

I bought my 2018 Premier ($43,835 msrp) for $36,435 in San Diego about two weeks ago (i.e. $7,400 below msrp) . I went on Cargurus and found the cheapest new Premier within 200 miles and asked the dealer to match the price. The salesperson came back in 5 minutes and I said "ok." There was absolutely no back and forth. The car had just come in and had 2 miles on the odometer. I had to wait an extra day for them to finish the pre-delivery inspection before taking it home.

whoa! Great technique. I just found a boat-load of 2018 Bolts within 50 miles of home (supposedly) for $7000 off (although price does include $1500-off "GM Lease Loyalty Towards Purchase".)

I’ve seen several ads on car gurus and dealer websites for between $5k-$7200 off MSRP. I went in to Escondido Chevy today and offered $7k below MSRP on a 2018 LT with fast charge, driver confidence, and convenience. They had offered it at $33,200. This was $6500 below MSRP. I offered $32.5k. They told me that because I didn’t have a current GM lease I didn’t qualify for the full discount and that in order to get the other $5k I had to take GM financing. But that there was no prepayment penalty. They also told me I qualified for an educator discount of $500 so the total I could have gotten was $5500off MSRP.

I’m wondering if those of you who got large discounts also had to jump through these hoops and take financing or meet other qualifications?
