Nothing sells a story better that a poor family and their dog.

There are 4 recalls on the Bolts by the way.

There are 4 recalls on the Bolts by the way.
For the fire recalls there appear to be three:
  1. NHTSA 20V701000, GM N202311730 and N202311731. 2017-2018 cars and 2019 cars with Korea-made batteries. Interim remedy was software to limit charging to 94%. Final remedy was cell voltage check and software with added diagnostics and fire alarm, also removing the charging limit. Final procedure was available for non-recalled 2019 cars under GM N202323690.
  2. NHTSA 21V560000, GM N212343880 and N212343881. 2017-2019 cars. Remedy is replacement of all battery modules when available.
  3. NHTSA 21V650000, GM N212345940. 2020-2022 cars. Remedy is replacement of defective battery modules when available.
2017-2018 cars, and 2019 cars with Korea-made batteries had the first two recalls. 2019 cars with US-made batteries had the second recall but could get the first recall final remedy as a non-recall service. 2020-2022 cars had the third recall.

I ought to contact the Bangor Daily News. Last I heard there were five EVs in all of Aroostook County, which is the largest county east of the Mississippi.

I went to an online pricing web site. They said 4 separate recalls on my model 2020. Not 4 fire recalls.

Something like seat belt, some axle maybe and I think door issue then the fire.

I think he means that the Detroit Free Press article also appeared on USA Today. Some news outlets will run stories from each other, especially USA Today.
Detroit Free Press is associated with USA Today (both are owned by Gannett). Note the similarities in the page layout and graphics, as well as the link to USA Today.

There are other local newspapers that are similar.
