Seems lots of card offers with spend $500 or $1000 in 90 days and get a hundred or so rebate. Would be a way to reduce cost of EVSE purchase.

BTW, just got a 10% personalized code on ebay, browsing EVSEs. Would be able to get a steeper discount if I also use a new credit card.

Lots of ways to game those CC spend requirements and there's whole financial threads dedicated to describing them. Things like prepaying utilities or other recurring expenses, buying Visa gift cards, etc. I suppose if you were already going to buy an EVSE and needed to hit a spend limit it would make sense.

Inquire at your power provider for rebates.
Lots of them offer little publicized rebate programs on approved EVSE's. I recently got a $500 check back from my POCO for the purchase of a $549 JuiceBox Pro 40 EVSE. I have now retired my old JuiceBox (home assembled kit) EVSE I put together in 2014. Nice thing is I now have a working spare EVSE and only paid $50 for the JuiceBox Pro 40.
