Hi everyone, I have a 2017 Bolt and I have been trying to develop my own dc fast charger using some of my power supplies and batteries that I have in place so I can reach up to 50A 430V DC available in my own garage.

I am using a board that I got from a German vendor with allows the handshaking and everything else. The thing here is when I try to control the current ramp, how fast should it be to get the car happy with the current ramp. Bc, sometimes I give my system a period to ramp up to what I told the car I could give him and It after a while, he rejects my charge.

I really would like to know if anyone else tried to do something similar even if it is AC as well. if you could help me how does this car current ramps to achieve the cruise charging speed.

The specifications are open so all you have to do is get the parts, put it together and hope you didn't make a mistake.

There is an open source L2 board and they have a forum that might help.

There are a few and will be more home type DC chargers by commercial.

Why do you think you need a dc charger? Do you have extensive training on how to keep that kind of voltage safe? My work has us putting on moon suites.

This sounds so cool. I suspect over the next few years as more and more Bolts come out of warranty and more folks get ambitious, we may see all kinds of tricks and hacks. There are enough Bolts to make a pretty good resource. I wonder how complex the code is. Imagine adding functionality with no or only minor hardware changes. Say an actual camping mode, or maybe V2H. There are all kinds of possibilities.
