There was a thread on this long time back... I think the word from some GM engineer was the way they implemented the seamless blended regen braking prevented them from doing adaptive cruise in the Bolt.
The blended brake argument was a bit weak, though. It's likely more attributable to the missing radar sensors. Bolt relies entirely on the front mounted camera to do lane keeping and proximity estimation during driving, which is supposedly not accurate enough for a proper adaptive cruise control.

I rented a Toyota RAV4 last month and the adaptive cruise control was great and made my trip easier and much more relaxing. Kia's stop and go system looks like it would be awesome.

I’ve had adaptive cruise control in some non-Chevy vehicles I’ve driven (provided by my work). Some had stop and go function and others did not (usually the ones with e-parking brake have stop and go). It’s a great feature to have and I miss it in my Bolt.

Unfortunately, basic adaptive cruise control is being phased out in favor of more advanced systems. I say “unfortunately” because manufacturers like GM (SuperCruise) and Ford (BlueCruise) are switching to a subscription model. They’ll usually give you the first few years with the vehicle purchase but then get you on the subscription train (usually about $25/mo) to supposedly keep the maps up to date.

I don’t know about you but personally, I have enough subscriptions in my life. Companies are obsessed with acquiring regular monthly income streams by getting people to subscribe to EVERYTHING. This works great for them but not the consumer. Before you know it, all of those monthly subscriptions will own you and it will happen $5-$25 at a time.

100% agree.
