It's up to 126, actually. Word has it that EA is finally offering 24/7 phone support. This is vital because a huge number of checkins report that it requires a call to tech support in order to get a charge going.

We are still sitting at a 79% overall success rate. This is based on PlugShare checkins where any successful charge counts as success. Otherwise, it counts as a failure.

Vital stats:
Open: 126
Coming Soon: 115
Overall Success Rate: 79%

Opened by month:
May 2018: 4
June 2018: 0
July 2018: 3
Aug 2018: 5
Sept 2018: 5
Oct 2018: 12
Nov 2018: 13
Dec 2018: 18
Jan 2019: 30
Feb 2019: 23
Mar 2019: 13 (as of 3/21)

Great news! Thanks for keeping us updated. Interestingly EA appears to have stopped, or are way behind, adding coming soon sites to plugshare, recently I and fellow EV drivers have added Erie PA, Waterloo NY, and Herkimer NY. Herkimer looks done, possibly just waiting on permits.

It's very strange the way these go.

Somebody did a successful test charge at the Tallahassee, FL site about 6 weeks ago. But that site is still officially "coming soon".

In that same 6 weeks, Valdosta, GA was announced, constructed, and opened. (I was especially happy about Valdosta. It just opened yesterday and it will help me get to Disney World!)

Why would anyone WANT to go to Disney World?

Just kidding...as a long time Floridian I very much appreciate the tens of millions who annually dutifully appear and voluntarily pay "Rat Tax" by visiting the Mouse House and its brethren.

Please come again, eat and spend money! That way we can keep not having state income tax.

The site at Butte, Montana is live. It's actually in Rocker just west of Butte off I 90. Just did a test charge there this PM. $. Since I have a l2 at home this was just a test as I've not used a L3 before. Pretty straightforward, worked fine.
Thanks for the sanity check. EA has a couple of problem sites where they installed the bump stops too far from the units, but as long as I am fully pulled up to the bump stop and aligned on the passenger-side of the parking space, I've had zero issues plugging in so far.

Now, because I have an early Bolt EV with heavy cord communication issues, the order of operations makes connecting a bit of an issue; however, I have always been able to connect and charge.

Not a single one up and running in the entire state of Arizona. I wonder what is taking so long.

I saw your checkin. It's part of the spreadsheet now. Congrats on being the first to charge in Butte/Rocker.

That's a great spreadsheet - did you compile it by hand?

I've tried to contact EA about their map being well out of date, but while they've tried to call me back, I have yet to connect. Obnoxiously they don't seem to want to contact me any way other than phone, and I often cannot take a phone call.

Yes. I just check PlugShare once a day and update the spreadsheet. Takes less than 5 minutes.

I've only talked to EA once on the phone. The tech rep was extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone who has commented on their tech support says now nice they are on the phone. The problem is that often times, they still can't get a charge going.

I haven't tried to contact them via email, but it would be nice if they were open to answering questions that way.

I'm glad to hear they are nice on the phone. The trouble is, I'd rather just get an answer to my question rather than have to find a time to call them. It's not easy for me to find time to talk on the phone. A simple one-paragraph email would suffice.

The EA site at Battle Mountain in Nevada went live in the last day or so. It's an important backup to Elko and Winnemucca; I might make a trip to visit my sister outside of Wells, NV now that this up and running. Side note ... you can pick up some nice fireworks while in Battle Mountain. All the CA legal stuff is on one side of the shop, and all the good stuff is on the other side.

News today that EA has contracted with H&S for new DCFC hardware being shown this week @ Hannover. The hardware is referred to by a brand name "RADOX" and apparently will be supplied to both EA and Ionity. Although the pictures look drastically different than the currently installed EA DCFC the specs don't appear far different. It is not clear to me if this is a new DCFC or if RADOX is simply a new cable type for the existing units that will be used going forward for new installs.

Can someone post a link to a map that shows the charging rates of their locations? The official EA website only shows the number of each type of handleset.
It's because their fee schedule is the same across all chargers: https://www.electrifyamerica.com/pricing

Hopefully, we see an adjustments to their rates that allow for a variety of electric vehicles and aren't just geared towards EVs that can charge at 150+ kW.

Speaking of cables, I have some news that I'll share in the next report.

According to a PlugShare user, Electrify America has replaced short cables with longer ones at at least one site. That's good news for Bolt owners who seem to have the most trouble with EA's cable length. We at least know EA is willing to swap out these cables.

When I was at Fincastle, I paid $16.60 from 22% to 80%, 34.3 kWh. That is $0.48 per kWh!

I was just up at Zion Crossroads, and figured I'd see if there was any progress.

There were two trucks and several guy's working on them. They had all the cabinet doors open. Dang! I wish I had taken a picture of the insides. According to the tech, a Volt owner, the company doing the installations is a big PV/battery backup company, as well as doing chargers.

I filled him in on EA complaints. He said there is supposed to be a card reader software update soon. I told him about your idea of switching the order of operation, like EVgo. He said he would pass the suggestion along...who knows.

He thought the chargers could be up by this time next week.
