I'm not sure this is the appropriate topic for this forum or even the Bolt as it is more universally suited to EV's in general, but I'll let the mods decide if it should stay.
I've owned my Bolt for about three weeks now, and I really am enjoying it however, it is a complete paradigm shift from my ICE (Chrysler 300 SRT) and I have much to learn. I have never owned an EV, PHEV, or any other alternative fuel vehicle, but love technology and dove in as the timing was right for me. Within these few weeks of ownership I've noticed something in my years of driving that I wasn't expecting - and not really prepared for. EV dislike, discrimination, and even approaching hostility in some cases. Maybe I've been a bit naive, but I never expected some of the reactions and/or actions of others regarding a car! Really? These "incidents" have happened on the road as well as in discussion with others and typically seem to have a root cause in either; fear of change, or typecast as an "eco terrorist" and I don't belong on "their" road (at least this is all I have gleaned).
EV's are a curious minority where I live, and it is an spectacle if you see one. I'm always looking for that Tesla or Leaf etc... and sometimes I'll see one on the hwy, but they are few and far between. Anyway, I can list specific examples but my thought is that If I have already had more than several of these experiences in three weeks, then I am probably not even close to alone. I don't feel victimized nor do I want to be some sort of SJW for Ev's, but I am curious...
Have you experienced hate for driving/discussing your Bolt EV?
