She came to me on May 22, and we've had a great time since. I live in a rural area in Virginia, with no DC chargers within, probably, 75 miles. Given the number of miles I know I'll be putting on, I installed an EVSE before taking delivery of Eveh.

I'd still like to to see an FAQ on this site! For example, how does one get into the "green" area for climate control? How does one tame Android Auto? Why am I deducted points for terrain when I'm in an essentially flat area? So many questions! :)

Anyhow, yesterday, I received my new vanity plates (first ever). I was very excited that the plates were available! Thank for those who have already been gracious enough to help me on this site.

Welcome. Yes, rural Virginia is a DC charging wasteland. The good news is you will have no use for a DC fast charger within 75 miles. We regularly go to every town within 75 miles of us without a thought. DC fast charging is needed when you are going beyond that. For the next five years, you can figure on taking and ICE on trips, or slow down and do 200 mile days, with overnights at motels with an EVSE.

There is no way, that I am aware of, to get into the "green" area using AC or heat. I totally skip that screen. The only thing that matters is mi/kWh. My suggestion is to set your temp control on 72 F, fan on 2, air on feet/face/def. and forget it forever. Control your energy use with the accelerator. Avoid jackrabbit starts. Stay off the interstates as much as possible, and you will go far.

Liking the color of your Bolt. I'd highly recommend getting a can of plastidip and blacking out your emblems for cheap. Looks very nice on the Summit White even if matte black plastidip is all you put on.

Salutations from another Virginia summit-white-Boltist.

We don't have public fast chargers near our house either, but throughout my 12.5 months and 20,080 miles with kEVin I have never needed it. I used various DCFC stations once in a while just to ascertain the DC charging capability is working.

And, if you go elsewhere off your peninsula, you'll find a few fast chargers in Richmond/Glen Allen, Northern Virginia and DC, so worry not, but do visit here to see what chargers are actually operational and what you need to use them :)

For the climate control part, for AC I set the temperature, then turn Heat & Air on, and I make sure to push the automatic button {it's the lower part of the temperature knob}. For Heat, if my wife isn't in the car, I turn on the steering wheel heater and the bun-warmer. When I need it, I turn on the defrost, but I try not to use the Max Defrost button much. It's pretty aggressive. If the wife's in the car, I do heat exactly like I described AC usage.

Heat / AC both take energy to operate, and I occasionally remind myself on why I bought the Bolt. It was not to be uncomfortable. My longest typical relatively local drive is about 90 miles round trip. The Bolt easily makes it even with the heater on.

I hope you get great enjoyment out of your purchase, I know I do with mine.
