Today I had a weird issue with an EVgo charging station. The cord is held up in the middle by what looks like a retractable cable, but the cable wouldn't extend or unspool. With the support stuck the cord is effectively only half as long and had trouble reaching my charging port.
I believe this is a Delta City Charger 100kW, and the offending component is the 'cable management balancing system' or 'recoiler.' I can't tell if it's broken or I'm not using it correctly; I tried pulling down, to the side, and lifting up but the cable doesn't seem to want to budge. I tried both chargers, and even the CHAdeMO cords and they all had the same issue. EVgo support wasn't much help either.
Anyone else encountered this problem before?
