I didn't read the article but Europe (and China) are more aggressive about EVs than the US. They have passed laws banning ICE cars in certain areas which will take effect in a few years. I've read that the majority of the initial production of the Ford Mustang EV will go to Europe, and the VW ID.3 is being introduced in Europe first. The US is a follower, not a leader, in EV adoption. That's sad, IMO.

What you wrote is true. The article explains why---at least for Europe. As for China, it is a dictatorship. As Hitler proved to us dictatorships can manage their economies to achieve unbelievable accomplishments---out of the depression while building a formidable military. However, I prefer to live in the US. Europe would be preferable to China by a long shot.

Loss of freedom results in loss of creativity. China isn't innovating, it is copying the innovation others make and growing their economy faster than developed countries since they started out further behind and don't have to go through the iterations of improvements everyone else did. They can skip straight to the latest and greatest technology.
