Doing my happy dance today. Bought this car at the end of September and it has been mostly sitting on my dads driveway till today. It had 14 miles on it when I got into for the first time. So dad drove it a bit but not much. Here are my first thoughts.

1. I love the acceleration.
2. I love one pedal driving In L.
3. Like the wireless charging but the little plastic piece is too tight for my phone.
4. Ride is ok, it’s not as comfortable as my cmax energi but it’s ok. I found the seat fine but a little thin on padding.
5. Setting up myChevy keyfob was fairly straight forward and works ok so far.
6. 3 of the 4 tires need air, showing 29 psi and one is at 30. Need to look up what they should be at. Probably due to sitting and current cool weather here in Texas. I assume it is air and not nitrogen.
7. Got to build a nema to 15-40 mod plug for the oem charger.
8. Lane assist works fine for me so far.
9. My 20kw array is providing juice to charge it at 12 amps on a 110 outlet, not noticeable heat on plug, charger or cable.
10. Sirius XM station ID seems to not work very well, have no channel listing except xm#.
11. Used apple car play for first time, I like it. Wish my cmax had it.
12. Did I mention how much I love the acceleration??

that’s all to report for now. Am going to test it on a fast charger in the next few days just to make sure it works.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Welcome to the forum, glad you love your Bolt!

The Bolt is mine, but my wife's car is a CMax Energi. She loves it, but gets "gas anxiety" - she really wants an EV for her next car. I agree the CMax is much more plush and comfy than the Bolt. But the Bolt is good enough for me, it could be better. I like firm seats, but these are a bit too firm.

"L" mode driving is one of the best features of the Bolt. It's one thing that Chevy did better than any other EV maker, even the undisputed market leader.

Enjoy!

I'm considering a new or slightly used Bolt myself - nice write up. You mention your phone is too tight for the wireless change slot - does it fit in and charge? What kind of phone is it?

I'm tracking prices online via cars.com and there are some new ones that seem to be getting heavily discounted.

Where in TX are you located? I live in Plano and commute to Westlake every day. Need more EV range then my Volt. :)

Congrats on joining the club! That tire thing plagued me when I first got my Bolt, too. The tire pressure when from 37 per tire to about 32-33 in about two weeks and worried me as I thought I would have to replace one of all of them shorty after buying it used. Took it in for a recall and got the tires rotated and inflated and they’ve stayed at 39 for the last 1,500 miles.

Also, couldn’t agree more about the acceleration. It was the main draw to me over getting a PHEV like a Prius Prime.

Welcome to the extended Bolt family!

Bought this seat cover/cushion for my Bolt. Made a nice difference in seat comfort:

my phone is an iPhone XR, with the apple case it is just too tight so have taken the plastic holder out and it works fine without it. Same issue for the wife’s android phone LG lifestyle. A smaller phone should work with no problem on the holder.

@DZD. Am in Seguin, New Bruanfels area

I finished my 220v adapter and it works fine. Charges around 2.8 to 3kw but interestingly here at my house I have not problem charging at 12 amps 110 but at my mother-in-law’s house when I try to charge at 12 amps it will error out. I get the green flashing light followed by 2 red flashes. And while it s till shows flashing green when I get in the car says it’s charging, but turn on car and it’s zero kw charging. Should have been done this morning at 0430 am but when I went out at 0800 it had only added 1/4 battery. I suspect because it’s an older house. There was no heat issue as I checked it off and on during the night to see if the breaker or outlet were hot with an infrared temp gun and it was nominal. Strange that it was flashing green on the dash no error on the charger but just not taking any juice. Plugged it in here at the new house this morning back to 3 kw charging no problem., switch to 110 v outlet charging no problem at 12 amps. Anyway rolled over 300 miles today on my way to house loving this car. Solar array is feeding it this morning.....
