In my commute home today I was behind a Ford vehicle sporting a red HOV decal. It had a tailpipe, which seemed out of place with the newer red decals. Are there hybrid vehicles which were able to convert to red decals? The plate was a 7YLExxxx, so maybe an early 2017 model.

Vehicles which first received white or green stickers in 2017 or 2018 can convert to red stickers.

The Ford Fusion Energi is a plug-in hybrid.

As I always do when the Fusion hybrid is mentioned, I'll state that it's a fantastic car. It's my go-to when renting due to the smooth and quiet ride that returns 45 MPG. Decent looking too; with design elements from Aston Martin. Shame they will be discontinuing the Fusion too.

I was considering one of these a while back.. yes IIRC its a plug in so it qualifies for stickies. Remember... stickies go by date of first issuance, not by car model year. I you procrastinate applying for stickers, you could get newer stickers on an older car.
