GM's Bolt EV Review In HD

Hi everyone, just found this video of GM giving us a tour of the Bolt EV's interior! Hopefully something similar will be in the production model. We've seen a render of of the exterior but not much has been shown for the interior.

The open feel and flat floor are cool. I can't help but thinking that the interior of the production model will be way different and very much along the lines of what we see in most other vehicles. I looked up the 2016 Volt to see what its interior looks like, but it hasn't been revealed yet. I think that seeing that interior will give us a very good idea of what the Bolt's interior will look like.
That was a great video, too bad it will be years maybe even decades before production model interiors get that simple, effective and interesting with design.
The seating is fine if it conforms to what the other manufacturers are coming out with but the console setup is what I really like as it's simple, clean and very sleek. Not a big fan of the multitude of buttons and knobs that's common with most cars.

To some extent those knobs are needed since not all the time can you have your eyes on the controls and instead on the road. But the cleaning up process of controls plays into self-driving cars.
Since the Bolt EV will be based on the same platform as the Chevy Sonic, I recommend visiting your Chevy dealer, and look at the 2015 Sonic. GM will probabaly use the same interior materials and parts to save production costs. BTW, the Sonic does seat five, having a rear bench seat, not the two bucket seats seen in the concept Bolt EV. Maybe GM can offer both as options so the buyer chooses the rear seating arrangement. I would buy the bench seat as all my past and present GM vehicles have rear bench seats.

To administrator: Your system timestamp is wrong. I am posting at 6:33 PM AST yet the system is putting the time stamp as 10:33 PM.
The interior of the Chevy Sonic look very nice and it's simple enough for me. I just hope that the Bolt is similar in style and simplicity. As for the rear seats, bench or not isn't too big of an issue as long as I can fold them down for extra trunk space.

My post time stamp seems to be a bit off too. This was posted around 12:45 but it shows up as 11:42 am.

Exterior of the Sonic alone is amazing to me, won't be suprised if that's on top of someones list for liking the sonic. Chevy did well.
If only the Sonic had the electric engine of the Bolt, I would snap that up in a heartbeat.

Chances are it wouldn't support the many components needed and still be able to do all the rest a vehicle would need to do.
It would be nice if the Bolt EV at least has a similar center console to the Sonic. Not a big fan of it's speed dash.
I won't mind if they don't do that. They might even do something new, being the brands first really mainstream EV it is a good opportunity to showcase something.
Maybe they'll move towards the Tesla S' design with a large touch screen in the middle. They'll have to come out with a sleek design for the Chevy Bolt if they want to compete with the Model X.

Dodge did that with the new Charger Interceptor (for police). So seeing how its good enough for law enforcement that could say something for civilian usage of something similar.
