Did anyone use an Electrify America station today (3-3-21)? I pulled in to a station in California and got a complimentary charge. There was a tech onsite repairing a station. He informed me that EA was performing a software upgrade on the system, and apparently has to take the payment system offline at ALL stations during the upgrade. That was fun.

I also have a large Igloo cooler that needed to be hauled around on this trip. Amazingly, it fit in the hatch. Barely. With like 1-2 millionths of inch clearance on all sides. Put it this way. This cooler will likely not fit in the EUV.

I got the hint from Complimentary charging on EA today in Tennessee... and yes, my reply was post #6 there. Was also free. I wonder how long the upgrade is going to be.

It will be interesting to see, as I understand it the EUV actually has more storage volume than the Bolt EV, however the way in which the volume is determined is fixed by measuring the height directly above the rear axle center to the interior roofline, that is why the specified volume is slightly less...

The tech told me he had been informed that the upgrade would take all week, but he personally felt the complimentary sessions would end that day.

Interesting. Another poor marketing decision by GM regardless. Apples to apples, and all. This cooler will certainly be a perfect litmus test though, and given the opportunity I'll bring it by my dealer when they get inventory on the EUV.

It's quite interesting, the goodwill, a gas station with payment system down would just have a sign up saying no gas...

For the complimentary sessions I was speaking of, no app required. You pull into the station and plug in. Charging starts. There is a notice on the LCD panel of the charger that says "complimentary".

By the way, the best rate I could get at the 350kW station was 35kW. Started at 40% SOC. I don't use use chargers that can charge as fast as my car can take very often so I don't know if that's normal. I was expecting at least 45kW.

Saw the email and articles about the new app changes. So, for the first time in a year, I just went to log in and it updated the app. Entered my email and password, and it came up fine. It has been so long, I can't honestly say it looks any different.

What was the temp and the SOC? Both have significant impacts on the charging rate.

Yep. Definitely over. I swung by two EA sites on Friday night including the one I charged at for free on Wednesday night. They don't show complimentary session on them and for kicks, I plugged into the unit I used. Was presented the UI w/the guest pricing.
