Got some new wheels put on today. Reused the stock tires on the new wheels. Planning on putting snow tires on the stocks and use them as my winter set. New wheels are 2 lbs lighter than stock. Not a huge difference but was leaning more over to the aesthetics department.

This what I want to do, new wheels for aesthetics reasons and keep using the stock tires. I want the range I paid for, I like the self sealing feature even if it doesn't always work 100% and I'm way too much a cheap ******* and refuse to get rid of tires until they are actually worn out. My problem is, I haven't found any aftermarket wheels that fit the Bolt and the stock tires that I'm all that excited about. I'll have to keep checking.

To the OP- are your new rims the same width as the stock, or are they wider? It seems most aftermarket rims are wider than the stock. What I really don't want is a situation where my stock tires have to stretch to meet the rim and end up having the rim stick out further than the tire and be the first thing to hit the curb.

@DaV8or I didn’t see a point getting rid of the stock tires as well since they are very new. The stock wheels are 6.5” and the new wheels are winder by 1”. The tires did have to stretch to make up the difference but the lip does not stick out and the wheels stay within the wheel well so I wouldn’t be concerned with curb rushing the wheels. There are also no clearance issues as well. The rear has tons of space, the inside part of the rim comes a little closer to the front shock but I’m not concerned as there is still about a 1/2” space. So far I have had no issues and don’t anticipate any. Also, my alignment has not changed and everything is still straight as an arrow. Hope this info helps.
