Green Car Reports test drove the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV, but he didn't take it for a long test drive. It's more of an overall short ride review and the Bolt is beautiful. :crying: It could be the recording equipment, but the Bolt is so quiet when he was driving. Barely any road noise.

The infotainment system seems to respond at a fairly decent rate from touching. That's always a pretty big concern for me as I get impatient and frustrated
Maybe you are more "old school", preferring the real feel and instant response of knobs and switches of the non-touchscreen models. You can swap out any infotainment system in any model for the classic radios of the past.:D

No, you might be able to add one in addition and use it instead. But the infotainment system is integrated into the head unit that provides functions critical to the Bolt (and many other cars). If you "swap it out" you can listen to the radio in your garage (or wherever you perform the swap), but the car likely isn't going anywhere afterwords.

It will be the official hipster Bolt and to some it will make the Bolt even more hipster:D

Get one of these and call it a day:

That's too fancy for me, i'm more of a tape player kind of person with a maximum of 5 buttons. He does make a good point in the video, while we're thinking of the long 9 hour charging time, that's when the battery is fully discharged and not likely something that any of us will do.

See now you're appealing to the hipster in me ! But if I can't take out the factory infotainment because it's crucial for providing various other functions, I'll just have to throw one of these bad boys in the passenger seat ;)

Or I can get closer to the times with one that has bluetooth LOL
