Hi Alex- we are hoping to pick up our 2022 Chevy Bolt later this month. With the offer from Chevrolet for a free home charger, were you able to tell them you'd like the Grizzl-e charger? We'd love to get the same charger, so your post has me a bit hopeful!
If you are getting the EUV then the EVSE is included for sure. GM then pays for installation of the 240V receptacle or in Canada you can take a $750 credit with Flo if you prefer.
Your post makes it sound like the BC gov't is providing a free EVSE as well? Or is that a credit if you buy one?

Hello, in fact GM only paid for the wiring and NEMA 14-50 outlet and I had to buy a charger myself (I live in Ontario where the government don't care about EVs other than right before the elections).

No, they don't care about EV's at all. Even our Premier drives a pickup truck.

those thick cables would be tough. I like the very thin ones from the Bolt's OEM L1 that I'm using on 240V. Had to extend one of them that uses a very thick cable and it makes it a lot more difficult.
I have one of their chargers with a thick cable and I don't find it difficult to manage.

United is based in Canada, and I think they believe thick cables are better suited for cold climates. Too bad they don't offer the option of standard vs heavy duty cable like they used to on the Classic Grizzl-e. I don't see the cable thickness option on any of their products, maybe they dropped the option to make ordering and fulfillment easier?

I Keep telling my wife it will pay for itself in a few months 😆
I've been using that argument for the geothermal system, heat pump water heater, EV #1, EV #2, and solar. All at least get tax credits along with the savings.

Had to laugh at your disconnect switch. I thought they went crazy with the labeling on mine. Nope. I at least painted over the manufacturer's sticker.

More future proof if you pay the electrician once to install a dual port EVSE.

I looked at something similar but went with the EVduty unit from Elmec. The two EVSEs are separate stand alone units that communicate with each other via WIFI and it worked for me since one car is inside and one is outside.
The EVduty units are nice too from the standpoint that you don't have to stop at two but can share as many as you want so for condo or multi unit buildings they are very handy and utilizes the assets already in place.
For me, I only had to install one 40A circuit and with my two EVSEs it all happens automagically.

A friend mechanic also recommends the EVduty.
