Electric vehicles are going to start taking the world by storm soon. Last month was when the 500,000th plug-in electrified vehicle was sold in the states and other countries around the world are reaching that milestone too, if they haven't hit it. World total for plug-in electrified cars is approaching 1.7 million. The large market for these vehicles should be enough to kick automakers' butts into gear.

This may be optimistic thinking but the Bolt and Model 3 may be the two models that'll help the plug in segment hit 1 millions sales.

I actually think that's not too far fetched of an idea. The bolt and the model 3 are coming with a strong presence at this point. Highly anticipated, and highly regarded. They should leave an impact, I'll be surprised if they don't.

It is possible if we take a look at how many down payments people have already made for the Model 3. According to Google, there are 373,000 reservations with 8,000 cancellations.

Exactly, and with numbers like that, comparing it with the Bolt which is expected to do better, it's not too far off and actually quite realistic
