I am considering a Bolt EUV. I am curious if anyone can tell me the height from the ground of the hatchback/trunk lid when its open. I have a Honda Insight now and the top of the hatch nearly touches the garage door when open.

I didn't fit under it. Maybe 6' 10" would be my guess on top of it..

I think the OP is looking for physical clearance on the outside of the hatch.

I measured the garage floor to the garage door (with the garage door opened) and it was 82" which is 6' 10". I just was curious to know if I will be able to open the hatchback while the car is in the garage while the garage door is open. I have a detached garage and almost always am loading or unloading the trunk while the garage door is open. I feel like it's pretty safe to assume it will be ok.

Just measured mine. The hatch is a 3 dimensional thing with a curve, so this is an approximation, but it looks like you need at least 82" clearance to fully open it.

There is a bit of wiggle there. If you push up on the hatch it could go to the 6'10" guess. If you don't then it might just settle to a bit less.
